Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Access the General tab
- Swipe to Phone Management and tap Battery & power saving
- Tap Battery saver to turn on the features
- Select a battery percentage at which Battery Saving Mode enables automatically
Disable Game Optimizer:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Access the General tab
- Swipe to Phone Management and tap Battery & power saving
- Tap to disable Game optimizer
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Tap Display
- Tap Brightness under Basic Settings
- Move the Brightness slider to the left to decrease brightness
- Return to Display and tap Screen timeout
- Select 15 seconds
Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:
NOTE: To improve battery life in the long run you can disable your phones connectivity features when they are not in use.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Access Settings
- Go to the Networks tab
- Scroll to Connectivity and tap Tethering
- Tap Mobile Hotspot and disable the Hotspot switch
- Tap Back to return to the Settings menu
- Tap the Bluetooth and "Wi-Fi switches to disable these features
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Personal and tap Location (GPS)
- Tap Mode and select Battery saving (Networks only)
Disable Background Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Access the Networks tab
- Tap Mobile data
- Press Menu and enable Restrict background data
- Tap OK
Change the Sync Settings:
NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by decreasing the amount of data being synced with your device.
- Open the apps drawer and go to Settings
- Access General
- Scroll to Personal and tap Accounts & sync
- Clear the Auto-sync data option
- Under Accounts, select an app to change its sync settings
Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:
NOTE: Some of your third party applications can affect your phones battery life even when if they are not in use assuming that the apps run regular processes in the background. As such you can improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps.
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Apps
- Access the Downloaded tab
- Tap and hold the desired application
- Tap Force stop or select Uninstall > OK to completely remove the application
Switch from 4G to 2G:
- Go to Settings
- Tap the Networks tab and tap More under Connectivity
- Tap Mobile networks
- Tap Network mode and select GMS only
Update to the Latest OS:
NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life, so its recommended to keep your OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap About phone
- Tap Update Center and select System Updates
- Tap Check for updates
- Assuming an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it
