Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Swipe to “Phone Management” and tap “Battery & power saving”
  5. Tap “Battery saver” to turn on the features
  6. Select a battery percentage at which Battery Saving Mode enables automatically

Disable Game Optimizer:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Swipe to “Phone Management” and tap “Battery & power saving”
  5. Tap to disable “Game optimizer”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Tap “Display”
  4. Tap “Brightness” under “Basic Settings”
  5. Move the “Brightness” slider to the left to decrease brightness
  6. Return to “Display” and tap “Screen timeout”
  7. Select “15 seconds”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: To improve battery life in the long run you can disable your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Go to the “Networks” tab
  4. Scroll to “Connectivity” and tap “Tethering”
  5. Tap “Mobile Hotspot” and disable the Hotspot switch
  6. Tap “Back” to return to the “Settings” menu
  7. Tap the “Bluetooth” and "Wi-Fi” switches to disable these features
  8. Access the “General” tab
  9. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Location” (GPS)
  10. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving (Networks only)”

Disable Background Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “Networks” tab
  4. Tap “Mobile data”
  5. Press “Menu” and enable “Restrict background data”
  6. Tap “OK”

Change the Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by decreasing the amount of data being synced with your device.

  1. Open the apps drawer and go to “Settings”
  2. Access “General”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts & sync”
  4. Clear the “Auto-sync data” option
  5. Under “Accounts”, select an app to change its sync settings

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Some of your third party applications can affect your phone’s battery life even when if they are not in use – assuming that the apps run regular processes in the background. As such you can improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Scroll to “Phone Management” and tap “Apps”
  5. Access the “Downloaded” tab
  6. Tap and hold the desired application
  7. Tap “Force stop” or select “Uninstall” > “OK” to completely remove the application

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Tap the “Networks” tab and tap “More” under “Connectivity”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Network mode” and select “GMS only”

Update to the Latest OS:

NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life, so it’s recommended to keep your OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Go to the “General” tab
  4. Scroll to “Phone Management” and tap “About phone”
  5. Tap “Update Center” and select “System Updates”
  6. Tap “Check for updates”
  7. Assuming an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it
