WARNING! When you master reset your phone, all personal information stored on the device’s internal memory will be deleted, including contacts, downloaded content, ringtones, media files etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values.

NOTE: Before you reset the device, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up data, or this thread for instructions on restoring data on the LG K10.

Master Reset via Settings:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. If necessary, tap “Menu” to switch to “List view”
  4. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal”
  5. Tick the check boxes associated with “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore”
  6. Tap “Backup account” and select or sign in with / create a Google account
  7. Tap “Factory data reset”
  8. Optionally, you can select “Erase SD Card” too (WARNING! This will format the SD Card and will remove all data stored on it)
  9. Tap “Reset Phone” > “Next”
  10. Tap “Delete all” > “OK”

Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If you are unable to reset the phone using the method above, you can try resetting the device from the Recovery menu instead. You can access Android Recovery by performing a combination of button presses, as follows:

  1. First, make sure the smartphone is turned off
  2. Next, press and hold “Volume Down” and “Power” at the same time
  3. When the “LG” logo appears, release and quickly re-hold “Power”
  4. At the “Factory data reset” prompt, use “Volume Down” to highlight “Yes”
  5. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  6. Using “Volume down”, highlight “Erase all user data and restore default settings”
  7. Press “Power”
  8. Use “Volume Down” to highlight “Yes” and press “Power” again
  9. Once the phone resets, it will reboot in normal mode

Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After a fresh factory reset, it’s recommended to check if new software updates are available for download. To do this:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. If necessary, tap “Menu” and switch to “List view”
  4. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
  5. Verify if a new OS version is available, and if necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update(s)
