Turn On Battery Saving Mode:
- On the home screen, drag the notification bar down
- Tap Settings in the upper-right corner
- Go to the General tab and scroll to Phone management
- Tap Battery & power saving
- Tap the Power saver switch and set it to ON
- Turn the available battery saver options On or Off, and choose a battery percentage at which the mode should turn on automatically
Adjust Video Quality in Games:
- Access the Settings menu
- Go to the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Battery & Power saving
- Set the Game optimizer slider to Off
Disable Smart Settings Unused At Home:
- Drag the Notification bar down on the home screen
- Access the Settings menu
- Go to the General tab
- Scroll to Smart functions and tap the Smart settings slider to Off
Turn Off Connectivity When Unused:
NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and Hotspot when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Access the Settings menu
- Go to the Networks tab
- Under Connectivity tap Tethering
- Tap Mobile Hotspot and disable the option
- Go back to Settings and tap the switches associated with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to turn off the features
- Go to the General tab
- Scroll to Personal and tap Location (GPS)
- Tap Mode and choose Battery saving (networks only)
Switch to 2G Connectivity:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank and you need to conserve battery life until the next recharge, you can temporarily switch to 2G connectivity.
- Open the Settings menu
- Access the Networks tab
- Tap More under Connectivity
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Select GSM only
Disable Background Data:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Go to Settings
- Access the Network tab
- Tap Mobile data > Menu
- Turn on Restrict background data
- Tap OK to confirm
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open the Settings menu
- Access the Display tab
- Under Basic settings, tap Brightness
- Drag the Brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
- Tap Screen timeout
- Select a lower value, such as 15 seconds
Change App Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your accounts / apps to sync less data or less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Access the Settings menu
- From the General tab, scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts & Sync and turn off Auto-sync Data
- Under Accounts, select an app and change the available sync settings as desired
Minimize Usage of Third Party Apps:
NOTE: Some third party applications on your phone can affect battery performance even when they are not in use, due to the fact that certain apps perform regular background processes. Thus, by turning off or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- From the General tab, scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Apps and access the Downloaded tab
- Tap & hold the desired app
- Tap Force stop to turn off the app, or Uninstall to remove the app from the phone
