Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your applications doesn’t work as intended, freezes, crashes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the application’s cache and / or data.

WARNING! Clearing an application’s data will delete all your personal information stored within the application, including saved games, settings, profiles, high scores, credit card and login information etc. To avoid losing personal data, clear only the application’s cache.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the “Notification” bar down on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings” and tap “General”
  3. Tap “Apps” and swipe to “All”
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Clear cache”
  6. If clearing the app’s cache didn’t solve the issues, you can tap “Clear data” > “Yes” to confirm

Wipe the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or runs out of storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have similar effects as a factory reset without losing any personal data in the process.

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Tap “General” > “Storage”
  4. Wait for the phone to finish calculating data
  5. To clear the cache, tap “Cached data” > “Yes”
  6. Wait for the cache to be cleared. Once done, you should see only a very amount of “Cached data” left

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: In case you have installed a third party applications that causes issues on your phone and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to easily remove the app from within safe mode. In this mode, all third party applications are disabled. To reboot into safe mode:

  1. If necessary, wake up the screen
  2. While on the home screen, press and hold “Power”
  3. In the power options menu, tap and hold “Power off”
  4. At the “Restart in Safe mode” prompt, tap “OK”
  5. Wait for the phone to reboot and once done, a “Safe mode” watermark should be visible in the lower-left corner of the screen
  6. To remove an app, first open “Settings”
  7. Then, tap “General” and access “Apps”
  8. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired application
  9. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  10. Once the app has been removed, you can exit safe mode by resetting your phone as you normally would. Simply press and hold “Power”, then tap “Power off and restart”
