    Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps freezes, crashes, takes up too much storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal information stored within the app will be lost, including media files, user profiles, save files, settings, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “General”
    3. Tap “Apps” under “Phone management”
    4. Select the desired app
    5. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
    6. If necessary, tap “Storage” > “Clear data”
    7. Press “OK” to confirm

    Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your device crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the device’s cache partition. This can yield results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data on the phone.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. If necessary, access the “General” tab
    3. Tap “Phone management” under “Storage”
    4. Access “Internal storage”
    5. Wait for the phone to finish calculating the data and tap “Cached data”
    6. Press “Clear” to confirm

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for instructions on how you can factory reset the phone instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party app that causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled by default. To reboot the phone in Safe Mode:

    1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
    2. From the power management window, tap and hold “Power off”
    3. When prompted to “Restart in Safe Mode”, tap “OK” (NOTE: after the phone reboots, you should see a “Safe Mode” label in the lower area of the home screen)
    4. To remove an app, first access “Settings” and go to the “General” tab
    5. Tap “Apps” and select the desired app
    6. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm
    7. To exit Safe Mode, press and hold “Power” and tap “Power off and restart”
