Clear an App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications freezes, crashes, takes up too much storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, such as user profiles and save files, settings, credit card and login information etc. To avoid losing personal data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Phone management”
  3. Go to “General” and tap “Apps”
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  5. If clearing the cache didn’t fix the issues, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (read WARNING above)

Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your device doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the cache partition. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data.

  1. Launch “Settings” and go to “Phone management”
  2. Tap “Storage”
  3. Tap “Internal storage”
  4. After the phone finished calculating the data, tap “Cached data”
  5. Tap “Clear” to confirm

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the phone.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

  2. Tap and hold the “Power off” option from the power management pop-up
  3. When prompted to “Restart in Safe Mode” tap “OK”
  4. Wait for the device to reboot
  5. After the process completes and the phone restarts, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area on the home screen
  6. To remove an app, go to “Settings” > “Phone Management”
  7. Tap “Apps’ and select the desired app
  8. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  9. Once the app has been removed, you can exit Safe Mode by restarting the device normally
