WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all of your personal data stored on the devices internal memory will be deleted, including media files, contacts, ringtones, downloads etc. In addition, settings will be restored to factory values but data located on the SIM card and external storage wont be affected.
NOTE: Before you reset the device, you can check this thread for instructions on how to back up data, and this thread for restoring data.
Factory Reset via Settings:
- Launch Settings
- Access Phone Management > Backup & Reset
- Tick or clear the check boxes associated with Automatic Restore and Back up my data
- Tap Backup account and select the desired account
- When ready, tap Factory data reset and optionally you can choose to Erase SD Card as well
- In case your phone has a lock screen set up, enter your PIN/password and tap Continue
- When ready, tap Delete all > Reset
Factory Reset via Android Recovery:
NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it via settings, alternatively you can try resetting the device using hardware buttons.
- Turn the phone Off
- Press and hold Power and Volume down at the same time
- At the LG screen, release and quickly press Power
- At the Factory data reset screen release the keys
- To navigate the menu, press Volume down and highlight Yes
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- When prompted to Erase all user data and restore defaults highlight Yes and press Power
