Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps causes problems, freezes, crashes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache/data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all of your personal app data will be deleted, including user profiles, custom settings, save files etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “General” > “Apps”
  3. Select the desired application
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  5. If clearing the app cache didn’t solve the issues, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (Check the Warning above)

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, alternatively you can clear the phone’s cache partition. This can have similar results to a factory reset but without the deletion of personal data from the device storage.

  1. Launch “Settings” and access “Phone Management”
  2. Tap “Storage” > “Internal storage”
  3. Once the phone finishes calculating the data, tap “Cached data” > “Clear”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the device.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes problems and prevents you from removing it, alternatively you can remove the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power”
  2. From the Power Management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. When prompted to “Reboot to Safe Mode” tap “OK”
  4. After the phone finishes rebooting, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be shown in the lower area of the home screen
  5. To remove an app, launch “Settings” and access “Apps” > “All apps”
  6. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  7. After the process is done, exit Safe Mode by rebooting your phone normally
