Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: In case one of your apps crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage inexplicably or causes other issues and doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all of your personal app data will be deleted, including user profiles, save files, personalized settings etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “General”
  3. Tap “Apps” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  5. If clearing the app cache didn’t solve the issue, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check the warning above)

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your device crashes, freezes, or doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try solving these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have results similar to a factory reset without the loss of personal data from the phone storage.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Phone Management”
  3. Tap “Storage” > “Internal storage”
  4. Wait for the phone to finish calculating the data
  5. Tap “Clear data” > “Clear”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes issues and prevents you from removing it, alternatively you can uninstall the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power”
  2. In the Power Management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. At the “Reboot to Safe Mode” prompt, tap “OK”
  4. Once the phone finishes rebooting, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
  5. To remove an app, open “Settings” and go to “Apps” > “All apps’
  6. Select the desired app
  7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  8. Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by rebooting the phone normally
