Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If an app freezes, crashes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try clearing the apps cache or data to fix these issues.
WARNING! By clearing the apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted. This includes custom settings, login information, user profiles etc. TO avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.
- Launch Settings
- Go to General > Apps
- Select the desired app and tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt fix the issues, tap Clear data > OK (check the WARNING above)
Clear the Phones Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise doesnt work as intended and you want to factory reset it, you can try fixing the problems by clearing the phones cache partition instead. This can have similar results to a factory reset without losing personal data from the device.
- Launch Settings
- Go to Phone Management
- Tap Storage > Internal storage
- Wait for the device to finish calculating the data
- Tap Cache data > Clear
NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didnt fix the issues, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the device instead.
Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:
NOTE: if one of your third-party apps causes problems and you are unable to remove it, you should be able to uninstall the app after rebooting the device in Safe Mode. IN this mode, third-party apps are disabled by default.
- Press and hold Power on the home screen
- From the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- When prompted to Reboot to Safe Mode tap OK
- Wait for the phone to reboot and once done, you should see a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an app, open Settings
- Go to Apps and switch to All apps
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
- After the app has been removed, you can exit Safe Mode by rebooting the phone normally
