Thanks to CES, more information has surfaced in regards to the Motorola Droid 4 and its appears a release is imminent. While no particular release date was announced at CES, the release of the phone must be approaching since Motorola found it necessary to cut the price of the Droid 3 down to $100. Despite Verizon failing to announce a firm price on the phone, many insiders and those familiar with the pricing process at Verizon suggest that the phone will debut at $250 with a two-year contract. Here are some basic details and information made available about the Droid 4 to help those who are considering the purchase of the phone make an informed decision.

    Integrated Battery

According to the user manual that was leaked recently, the Motorola Droid 4 does not have a removable battery. While this is not a deal-breaker, those who prefer to install larger batteries or simply want the ability to replace a battery in the event it malfunctions will not be happy with this design. It does however, allow for a slimmer, more compact design (just like the Droid RAZR).

    Reset Unlocking Key

If you are like many and suddenly forget your unlock pattern or accidentally create a wrong one, you now have the ability to fix that easily. Included on the Droid 4 is a “Forgot pattern” feature that will allow the user to enter the Gmail username and password associated with the phone and create a new unlock pattern. This does not work, however, with PINs or passwords; a factory reset will have to be conducted to reset these items.

    Remote Data Wipe

If your Motorola Droid 4 is being used for company/business purposes, it can be remotely wiped using specific software. Contact your IT administrator to have permissions assigned that allow this to be done. This only works by using an email account that is associated with a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync 2007 server.
