I finally settled on the V300. I'm not sure how I want to purchase it though. Amazon has it for only 159.99 (with service plan!) T-Mobile Get More 600 Nationwide Minute Plan With Unlimited Nights & Weekends (free shipping). The service plan sounded pretty good to me & the price was $90 lower, so I'm considering getting it that way. However, I'm not sure if I'd be better off just purchasing the phone from Cingular Wireless or Radio Shack. I live near both... I'm not sure if they have this model or not, though. I plan to call tomorrow. Point is, I don't know which way would be the best way. I'd appreciate any advice!!

    Online!!

    Faith,

I purchased a V300 online from Nexxcell.com and it was FREE. The phone was free and I got the car charger, headset, and leather case for free. Even the shipping was free.

The provider is T-Mobile and it required a $35 activation fee, however, I was sent a $50 mail-in rebate for the phone. I don't count on actually getting the rebate, but if I do, I'll be up $15!

There are some other sites that have "free" phones, but that is only AFTER (IF) you get the mail-in rebates back.

I purchased the phone this on a Tuesday and it showed up in 3 days. All I had to do was put the SIM card in and setup my voicemail!

    That sounds great but...

Unfortunately, Nexxcell is unable to provide me with wireless service in my area. (Should I wait until they can?) However, INTELENET Wireless seems to provide you with the free phone, free shipping, & free car charger, headset, & case - but like you said, it's all free ONLY after rebates! I don't quite understand the whole "rebates" thing... will I have to pay the $274.99 & then I'll get the rebates (money back)? Or will I just pay nothing except my $39.99 per Mo. for my service plan????

*Any advice would be helpful at this point!!

Personally, I wouldn't buy it online if you have to pay out of pocket - which is the case with all the rebates.

I don't quite understand the whole "rebates" thing...
Phone is $200. This means you pay $200. Then you mail in the rebate forms with your proof of purchase and 6-8 weeks later you get checks (maybe ). The problem is that you usually have to keep bugging someone if the checks don't show up. Even then, they will ignore you hoping you'll give up.
