I was wondering if a v3x can be converted to quad band using a seem editor.
looking at a seem map it looks like seem 0025-0001 offset 00 if you set bit 0, 1 ,3 to on you get 850/1900 900/1800 mhz and aslo seem 0032-0001 offset 50 bit 0 on = 850 mhz capable and offset 55 bit 5 on = multi-band phone.
I am really wanting this phone but im here in the USA on Cingular and I really need the 850mhz band. Can It be done ?????????????

Without the hardware inside the phone to be able to use the 850/1900 band inside the phone, editing the seem won't do a thing.

So the true test would be doing the seem edit.
If it were me, I'd just wait for the US version of the phone.

Yea, as above seem editing will do nothing..
Much like wireless internet chips, and channels depending on what country you are in, the phones are the same.
If it says triband, it will always be triband until you change the phone.
