    Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your third party apps doesn’t work as intended, you might be able to fix it by clearing its cache or data. WARNING! Clearing an app’s data will delete all the personal information stored within the app, such as credit card and login information, saved games, profiles, high scores etc. As such you should try clearing the app’s cache first.

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Tap “Apps”
    4. Go to the “Downloaded” or “All” screen
    5. Select the desired application
    6. Tap “Clear cache” > “OK”
    7. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “OK”

    Wipe the Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your phone doesn’t work properly and you’re considering factory resetting it, you should first try clearing its cache partition. Doing so can yield similar beneficial results as a factory reset, without losing your personal data stored on the internal memory. To wipe the cache:

    1. Turn off the phone
    2. Press and hold “Volume Down” and “Power” until the phone turns on
    3. In the menu, press “Volume down” to highlight “Recovery mode”
    4. Press “Power Up” to select the highlighted option
    5. From the screen displaying an Android robot lying on its back, press and hold “Power” and press & release “Volume Up”
    6. From the menu, use “Volume Down” to navigate to and highlight “wipe cache partition”
    7. Press “Power” to select the option
    8. At the “Reboot system now” prompt, press “Power” and wait for your phone to restart

NOTE: If wiping the cache partition didn’t help, you can visit this thread to learn how you can factory reset the device instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: In case you have installed a third party application that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to easily uninstall the app by first rebooting your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode all third party apps are disabled.

    1. With the screen turned on, press and hold “Power”
    2. In the dialog box, tap and hold “Power off”
    3. Tap “OK” to confirm and reboot your phone in safe mode
    4. To remove an app, first go to “Settings”
    5. Tap “Apps”
    6. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired application
    7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
