WARNING! When you master reset your phone, all personal data located on the internal storage (such as downloaded content, ringtones, apps, contacts etc.) will be deleted. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values.
NOTE: Before you master reset the device, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up and restore data on the Moto G Turbo Edition.
Factory Reset via Settings:
- Open the apps drawer on the home screen
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup & reset
- Tap Factory data reset and assuming that your device is lock screen-protected, enter the PIN / password and proceed
- Tap Reset phone
Factory Reset via Recovery:
NOTE: In case cant reset the phone using the method above, you can try applying the factory reset via Recovery instead. To access the recovery menu and reset the device:
- First, turn off the phone
- Press and hold Volume Down
- Next, press and hold Power
- When the first menu appears, release the hardware buttons
- Whilst in the menu, use Volume down to navigate to and highlight Recovery mode
- Press Power to highlight the selected option
- At the No command screen, press and hold Power, then press Volume Up
- In the Recovery menu, press Volume down repeatedly to highlight Wipe data / factory reset
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Press Volume down to highlight Userdata only or Userdata + personalized content
- Press Power and wait for the device to reset
- At the Reboot system now prompt, press Power
Update the OS:
NOTE: Once you finish resetting the phone, its recommended to check if newer software updates are available. To check for updates:
- Go to the phones Settings menu
- Scroll to System and tap About phone
- Tap System updates
- If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download it
