Clear App Cache or Data:

NOTE: If an app doesn’t work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! When clearing an app’s data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, such as custom settings, login details, save files etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Swipe up on the home screen from the bottom
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Access “Apps & Notifications”
  4. Switch to “All apps” and select the desired app
  5. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  6. If clearing the app cache didn’t solve the issues, tap “Clear data” (check the WARNING above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Phone:

NOTE: Before you factory reset the device, make sure you’ve backed up all of your personal data.

  1. Launch “Settings” and go to “System”
  2. Tap “Reset options”
  3. To reset network settings, tap “Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth”
  4. Tap “Reset settings” two times
  5. To clear app settings, go to “Reset app preferences” and tap “Reset apps”
  6. To factory reset the phone, tap “Erase all data (factory reset) > “ Reset phone” > “Erase Everything”

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by default. To access Safe Mode:

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. In the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. Wait for the phone to reboot. Once done, it should show a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
  4. To remove an app, launch “Settings”
  5. Access “Apps & Notifications” and switch to “All apps”
  6. Select the desired app
  7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  8. To exit Safe Mode, press and hold “Power” and tap “Restart”
