it could be that you have been charging it to long and you burnt out the cells...also, do you loose the camera/video features alot??? Do you keep the backlight on for along time?

Just like BMW said, you may have jacked up your battery. Make sure your battery is dayum near dead before you charge. That way your battery developes a lifetime. If you charge everday and you still have 3/4 power in it, you battery is gonna think it can only live 1/4 of the time. Hard to follow but i hope you follow.
When i had my i860 i NEVER had issues with my battery. I kinda miss it now that i upgraded to i930.

how do you turn the blacklight down, when i try i can jus turn it down to 30seconds, but it might be cuz i overcharged it, didnt no u could do that....it jus goes down 2 half the battery life, like real fast... and when i charge it, it charges for a little bit, hour or so.. and ti says its full and dont charge anymore, even if the battery was like 1/4 left

Everything you know about cell phone batteries only applies to nimh & nicad! lithium (which is what is in the i860) batteries do not need to be ran down before charging! they will not over charge if you charge them in the phone with all oem stuff unless something is wrong. it is ok to charge them off the car charger.

lithiums will swell and damage under a lot of heat like if you left them in the car in the summer.

Poor receiption is the #1 battery sucker! while your phone goes in and out of signal it transmits and receives alot.

the other thing as you said backlighting and just using it. it comes with a 1 year warranty on the battery go and get it swapped out for free if it is under a year. if it is over a year take it to a service center the most to fix that would be $35 even if it is out of warranty. a lot cheaper than $100.

There is a tech ticket for the i830 for excessive battery drain after exchanging the flip assembly. It's resolution is to perform a software update. Have you had any service done on it? Also have you had a software update done? Is it under a year old?

Here is a link to the latest software. You will need a data cable:
    http://idenphones.motorola.com/idenP...ls/R1C0101.exe

If that doesn't help then your phone, charger, and battery are still under warranty. Nextel service centers will honor the warranty on the battery and charger. The phone will cost you $35 to swap it out if you do not have the maintance plan. If you have a spare phone you can send it back under warranty. http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/...irOptionsUS.do
