They both work equally as good as far as working with the phone. I have seen people run into problems with the USB cable and Wireless keyboards/mice. Apparently the combination causes device conflicts, especially noted in Win XP. This was easily remedied by using a patch found on the 'net. The serial has given no problems to date.

The Serial Cable is by far the best data cable. I run Windows XP and could not get the USB cable to work with my i95 for 2 weeks. I went out and bought the serial cable and it worked first try!!!

Ive also heard that the serial cable is better, and.....Ive heard that its best to buy the nextel oem cables. I tried two other cables that were non-oem and they didnt work. I took a chance and bought the oem cable and it works.
