Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
NOTE: You can transfer audio files from a computer through various methods depending on the OS you use etc. You can visit this page for instructions on transferring audio files using the Microsoft Phone Phone Companion app, or the classic Windows Phone app for desktop.
You can transfer audio files manually without using the aforementioned tools:
- Connect the Lumia 650 to your computer via USB
- On the computer, use the File Explorer to locate the audio files you want to use as ringtones etc.
- Copy the files and paste them in the Ringtones folder located in the Phone root directory
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
Change the General Ringtone:
- On the Start screen, tap Settings
- Tap Personalization > Sound
- Tap the Ringtone drop-down menu and select the desired ringtone
- Optionally, you can enable or disable Vibrate
Change a Contacts Ringtone:
- Tap the People tile on the Start screen
- Select the contact you wish to edit and tap Edit
- Tap Ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone and tap Save
Change Notification Settings for Applications:
- Go to the Settings menu
- Tap Personalization
- Tap Sound
- Swipe to and tap Manage app sounds
- Adjust the notification options for each app individually
Enable / Disable Lock Screen Notifications:
NOTE: You can increase privacy by hiding notifications on the lock screen. To do this:
- Open the Settings menu
- Go to System
- Tap Notifications & Actions
- Tap Show notifications on the lock screen to disable the option
