Hey guys,
I'm looking for a detailed explaination of what parts of cellphones are made up of what materials. I have a general bar graph from Nokia explaining which percentage of a cell phone is made up of what. BUT I need to know exacally which parts are what materials. Anyone help me with this one.

What do you exactly mean, and what do you want to ask? You seem confused between graphs, materials, and and parts.
Ask nicely and we'll be able to discuss...What you lookin' here for ehhh?

Sorry I'll try to simplify my question.
Cellphones are made up of different parts (Covers, electic boards, antennas). Most of these are comprised of different materials (plastic, metal, glass). What I am asking is if anyone has detailed information about what raw materials comprise the different parts (e.g. Antenna is made up of, 80% plastic, 18% aluminium, 2% gold alloy).
As I said. I already have a bar graph from Nokia. This graph gives me the break down of materials for the phone, BUT the graph gives it for the entire phone as a whole. I'm looking for many graphs, each one pertaining to different parts of the cell phone.
I have about 400 lbs of electronic scrap exclusivly from cell phones. I am interested in recovering the precious metals from it. I have been given offers from people interested in buying my scrap, but after some intial research I find that these offeres are, for less of a better term, a joke. I have learned of several recycling tequniqes to recover the silver, gold and platinum from these phone but in order to maximize my cost/profit I'd like to minimize the non-recyclible waste. And seperate the percious metals into smaller treatable portions. There may be many people LIKE me, but baby theres only one Eddy Trogen.

The PCB contacts are made of 22k gold. That's for sure.

thats what got me started in playing around with the idea of recovering the metal. I've since found out that cell phones contain platinum and silver. Lol wish I had read that people buy used cell phones as long as they turn on for around $5 US depending on the phone. Most of the phones I took apart were working already. LOL

But you'll hardly recover any useful amount of metal. The gold is usually just in microns( i think around 23-40 microns thick). Now how can you remove such a thin layer?
