Please excuse my ignorance as I have only just become a mobile phone user.
I live in the UK & use a dual-band Nokia 1100 (900 & 1800MHZ) locked on Virgin (T-Mobile) network
I have been promised a similar but UNLOCKED phone by my friend in Paraguay (850 & 1900MHZ).
After I have asked my UK network provider to enable my service before I next visit Paraguay, can I simply switch my SIM card over from my UK phone to the South American one?
Advice most appreciated, thank you.
Christopher.

Re: Nokia 1100 - SIM Transplant Across The Pond Possible?
You could, but you would be paying international roaming charges, which are usually pretty expensive. We generally recommend when travelling overseas, to purchase prepaid SIM cards in the country you are visiting and use them while you are there. If you really must use your T-Mobile SIM in Paraguay, make sure you are aware of the international roaming charges beforehand.
