Like the title says, I left my N Gage QD plugged in to the battery charger for about a week. I was admitted in to the hospital and forgot I had left it plugged in.

So far I haven't noticed any problems with it except for the battery; I guess leaving it plugged in for so long killed it (I charged it last night and it's drained today).

My question is, did I inadvertenly harm my phone?

    Howdy Damooster,

I'm going to assume that this was an older battery. If anything it had just gotten to the point where proloned charging, helped it dye a bit faster than it would have on a normal charge/discharge cycle.

Just replace the battery and you should be fine.

i'm surprised this happened, as most phones now stop charging automatically when they are done....

    yea,

Most cell phones do stop charging when full these days.
However, i have noticed in the past that some batteries are disrupted when charges are made a varying points during the charge. I had a friend that always kept his phone on the charger when in the car, which was almost always. When he was away from his car, his charge would maybe last 45 minutes and then it was dead. He got a new battery and within a few weeks it started to do the samething as well. He had an old samsung though so I dunno, maybe it might have had to do with his phone.

I believe that problem was due to the prolonged use of the car charger, which is not recommended.
