How to delete texts without reading?

I have the cheapest Nokia with service via Net 10. How do I delete messages without reading them?

a bit weird question(what if it's a matter of life and death??) but i would share what i know anyway.
upon receiving the sms, dont open it. select exit. then go to the inbox dont read it, just delete it. simple.
