When I heard that Nokia has agreed to collaborate with Microsoft in order to implement the Windows Phone 7 software on their devices, I could hardly believe it. I heard that Nokia decided not to go with Android, because that would have been just too easy for Google to win (?). What do you guys think of this development? Is Nokia doomed to fail, or will it still has a shot to survive?

My Nokia N8 series wont power on 2 days after I bought it. Then I tried google for answer and I found out that there are tons of complains about N8. I think Nokia is trying their best to cope up with the giants like Androids and Apples but they lack the right ingredients. Maybe teaming up with Microsoft will improve their quality, but only time can tell. We will see what they have to offer.

I would think that Nokia is trying to test their hardware limit on multi platform, and this time with Windows 7. Let's just see until when or how much series of their product line they are willing to test and sacrifice in terms of market share since most of the users are not happy with MS.

Testing it on hard waters...they maybe willing to test and sacrifice but it will compromise their name and accountability which is difficult to keep once broken. I think they can still at least share a percent of the market holders of apple and android.

I don't think Nokia is playing dumb not knowing that consumers are reacting negatively on the recent change they have taken. They have seen and even anticipated it before even taking the step. I'll give Nokia the benefit of showing us their first handset running MS and until then will I decide if it's a good move for them or not.
