Back Up App Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & Reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data to your Google account
  5. Turn On “Automatic restore” to allow app data to be restored automatically when signing in with your Google backup account

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts”
  3. Tap an account type and select the account you want to use for contact syncing
  4. Enable “Contacts” if needed
  5. When ready, tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

NOTE: Contacts backed up using the method above can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your Google account.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Nokia 3 to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and use it to locate the desired media files on the phone storage
  4. Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC storage
  5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files form a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Nokia 3 to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the computer storage
  5. Copy and paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directory they originate from
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device form the USB cord
