Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Personal”
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
  5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or when logging in with the backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account to use for contact syncing
  4. Make sure “Contacts” is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data with the phone.

Back Up Media Files on a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification shade
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Then, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Copy and transfer the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
  5. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
