Adjust Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. For timeout options, access “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” “Wi-Fi” and “Location” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Open “Settings” and access “Location” for more GPS options
  4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery Saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Turn “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot” Off

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Expand “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Go to “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type”
  5. Enable “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes and they can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. Thus, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run by removing or disabling unused third-party apps.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps” and switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps”
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” to turn the app off
  4. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated all the time.

  1. Open “Settings” and access “About phone”
  2. Tap “System updates”
  3. Verify if new updates are available
  4. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install the update
