7210 and 6610 -> the same??

I heard that the nokia 7210 and the 6610 are the same cell phones. They have only another cover. Is that true?

yes, it is true. the 7210 was aimed at the younger crowd while the 6610 was made for the professional... same features in different packages.

they are 100% the same except the front cover

They also have different 'middle-plates' or chassis, the 6610 is dark grey and then 7210 is creamy-white. Are you sure the covers are interchangeable? Remember the 8310 and 6510 WEREN'T interchangeable (dunno why Nokia did that - however aftermarket covers were) - perhaps these ones are not as well?

I think they might also have different model numbers and the preinstalled software is different (different apps, wallpaper and polyphonic ringtones).

i have a 7210 and my brother has a 6610 and i tried to change the covers, but they weren't interchangeable

I just got a 6610, its pretty good, its T-mobiles approach to ATT's 7210.

I think 7210 had some problems also so they went with 6610.

The 6610 is more elegant

It's a common issue on Nokia'a handies. Do you remember the 8210 and 8850? The same phone with different box and a great difference on price.
Does anyone knows why on my PC at home (Win2000) my 6610 is recognised via IR as an 7210 cell phone??

Type in the code *#0000# and check the model numbers. It's a possibility that the phone is using a 7210-flashed PCB (I'm not sure of the model codes I'm afraid), but that would be really slack of Nokia had they done that.

The 7210 probably has more space on it than the 6610 as it has less factory-installed on it (6610 has different games and apps).

i like nokia 6610 verry good

both models are the same, functions games etc..... nokia keeps on coming out new models and when they ran out of new ideals, that is when phones like 6610 come out, from 7210. another example is also the 7250i, the onli difference is that i takes picture better can can be zoomed.....

got to agree with you! ^5.... think nokia are releasing more phones then they can even come to thing of it!
