Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up settings, app data, and passwords to your account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing them with the device
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to and tap Accounts
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for backing up contacts
- Enable Contacts
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the account or by manually syncing them with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer storage
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone, preferably in the Media folder
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device form the USB port
