Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Personal” and tap “Backup & Reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when signing in with the backup account or reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Tick the “Contacts” check box and tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you log in with the backup account or by syncing the account data manually with the Android phone.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the PC and locate the media files on the phone
  4. Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC storage
  5. Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Copy and transfer the media backup files from the computer, back to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
  5. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
