I just bought the White BlackBerry Pearl and i was wondering on the back of the phone what are the 2 gold things by the battery button?

Probably just for looks to compliment the battery button. Check in your User's manual to see if it lists what they are in a diagram (could also be docking station contacts).

I believe they are contacts for a charging cradle

they are for desktop charger
