Adding Contacts
Setting Up an Email or Other Types of Accounts:
- While on the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "Accounts
- Tap the "Add account +" icon to add an account
Adding a Contact to the Contacts App:
- Access the "Contacts" app and tap the "Add +" icon
- Enter the contact's information. For additional fields, tap the "+" icon
- If you have a work account and BlackBerry Balance and you wish to save the contact in the work space, tap "Work" at the top of the screen
- Tap "Save"
Copying Contacts To and From the SIM Card:
- Access the "Contacts" app and swipe down from the top of the screen
- Tap the "Settings" icon
- Perform one of the following steps:
- To copy all the contacts from the SIM card to the phone's memory, tap "Import Contacts from SIM Card"
- To copy all the contacts from your device's memory to the SIM card, tap "Copy Contacts from Device to SIM Card"
- To view all your SIM card contacts and select only specific contacts that you wish to save to your device, tap "Manage SIM Card Contacts"
Adding a Contact From the BlackBerry Hub:
- Access the "BlackBerry Hub" and tap and hold a message
- Press the icon depicting a human figure next to a "+" symbol
- Perform one of the following steps:
- To add the contact to an existing contact entry, select a contact from the list
- To add the contact as a new one, tap the "Add contact" icon
- Press "Save"
Adding a Contact from the Calls Screen:
- Access the "Phone" app and tap the "Calls" icon
- Tap and hold the desired phone number
- Press the "Add contact" icon and perform one of the following steps:
- To add the phone number to an existing entry, select a contact from the list
- To save the contact as a new one, press the "Add contact" icon
- Tap "Save"
Changing Contacts
Adding or Changing a Contact's Picture:
- Access the "Contacts" app and select the desired contact
- Press the "Edit" icon depicting a pencil
- Follow one of the steps below:
- To use a picture from a social networking account, select one of the pictures available at the top of the screen
- To use a saved pictures from your gallery, tap the picture area, press the "+" icon and browse the desired image
- To capture a new photo with your camera and assign it to the contact, tap the "+" icon, then tap the "camera" icon, capture a picture, crop / edit it and tap "Done"
- Tap "Save"
Changing a Contact's Info:
- Access the "Contacts" app
- Select a contact and tap the "Edit" icon
- Make the necessary changes. Note: to add a new field, tap the icon depicting a "+" sign next to a field
- Tap "Save" when ready to save the changes
Deleting a Contact:
- In the "Contacts" app, tap and hold a contact
- Press the "Trash can" icon
Adding a Contact to Favorites:
- Access the "Contacts" app
- Tap and hold the desired contact
- Press the "Star" icon
Assigning a Custom Ringtone to a Contact:
- Access the "Contacts" app and select a contact
- Press the "Edit" button
- Tap "Ringtone and Notifications"
- Select a ringtone from the "Phone Ringtone" drop-down list
- Tap "Back" and press "Save"
Filtering Contacts
Viewing Contacts by Account:
- Access the "Contacts" app
- Tap the icon depicting a contact
- Select the type of contacts that you wish to see
Hiding a Set of Contacts:
- Go to the "Contacts" app and swipe down from the top of the screen
- Press the "Settings" icon
- In the "Show Account in Contact List" section, turn "Off" the switch associated with the desired account
Sorting Your Contacts:
- In the "Contacts" app, swipe down from the top of the screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Select the desired option from the "Sort Contacts by" drop-down list
Sharing a Contact:
To share a contact in the form of a .vcf file:
- Access the "Contacts" app
- Tap and hold the desired contact
- Press the "Share contact" icon
