Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the BlackBerry DTEK50 to your computer using the USB cord
  2. Enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media Device (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the audio files on the PC storage
  4. Copy the desired files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” / “Alarms” directories
  5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Change the Phone’s General Ringtone:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound”
  4. Under “Call Ringtone & Vibrate”, tap “Phone ringtone”
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
  6. Optionally, select to enable or disable “Also vibrate for calls”

Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal storage.

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Tap the contact whose ringtone you want to change
  3. Tap “Edit” > “Menu”
  4. Tap “Set ringtone”
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm

Change the Notification Alert Sound:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Under “Device”, tap “Sound & notification”
  3. Tap “Default Notification Sound” under “Sound”
  4. Select the notification sound you want to use
  5. Tap “OK” to confirm

Enable / Disable Gmail Notifications:

  1. Open “Gmail”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
  3. Select an email account to change the notification settings related to it
  4. Tap the “Notification” check box to enable or disable Gmail notifications
