I want to convert my MP3 or WAV file to MMF or SMFF so I can put it on my Sharp TM150 .. I want the full song. Baasically what I am doing is just putting the whole entire song onto the phone so I can listen to it while the phone is in my pocket.
Dont worry, I can close the phone and have the song still play it doesnt close it. (I love sharp for that). I have the piece to convert the line out to go to my headphones. :-P
I tried using Mobile Music Polyfonic. but I cant seem to convert the WAV or Mp3 to MMF.
The phone doesnt recognize WAV or MP3.
Does anybody know a free program or that they can send me or download off of kazaa or bit torrent that i can convert MP3 OR WAV or anything to MMF?
thanks!

go to this site, its smaf-yamaha.com and theres a tool called wave to smaf converter, which will create a wav file to the mmf format, the only thing is i believe there is a limitation to the size and length of the file that you can process, if u have a prob let me know, i convert stuff all the time

My phone wont accept the file because it is to large I am guessing.
I am using Adobe Audition to convert the file into WAV but like a 500kb file when converted is like 25mb.. Do you know any program that wouldnt make the file so large?
This file here is really small to begin with.
Try this one.

Entire song i don't think is possible. Maybe a couple of verses it will probably work. If its still very big u can try using it as mono rather than stereo. Good luck

get any program you can that will allow you to crop the song specifically to a certain part of the song, like the chorus or something but only make it 10-15 seconds, otherwise the program that i gave you a link to wont work, and then create the mmf file with that program so that you can send it to your phone. Also, there arent any specific specs for the wav file but you should make it 48kbps, stereo or something similar and the sound quality should be alright.

thx a lot guys keep up the good work

as far as frequency it doesnt really matter, because the newest build of the wav->mmf converter from yamaha's site usually converts everything, but kinda keep it at this default 44khz 16 bit stereo and it will convert it fine, post back if you come up with that same error

anyone know if MMF files can be played on a Nokia 6600?
- 03-06-2005, 11:10 AM #15
nope, nokia 6600 only does wav, amr, awb, and midi for ringtones, it can play mp3's if you get an mp3 player for your phone, but it still wont work as a ringer
