.mp3 file extension

Why is the .mp3 file extension not allowed to be uploaded to this site?

I have some mp3 ringtones I would like to share with others on here.

Valid file extensions: bmp gif jpe jpeg jpg mid mmf pdf png psd txt

upload .mp3's to a site that hosts files like yousendit or rapidshare then share the links here

I'm asking why mp3 isn't or can't be on that list.

it just isn't.
No need to get into details, it just isn't.
Plus, mp3's would take up a hell of a lot more storage on cpf's server than mid's

33 seconds only 229KB

Most jpegs are bigger than that!

not even an mp3 tone @ 56kbs that is only 229Kb.
