My samsung galaxy prevail has a notification that I'm low on space. My SD card has 881MB free and 6.6MB free on internal storage. On the internal storage most of it is apps that came with the phone. This morning the phone continuously notified me that my message space was full but I had deleted all messages, what's that about. In the last month the phone stays hot, freezes often, the touch screen seems to jam/won't work. I thought this was a great phone for someone like me that never had used a android or smart phone before but I am a quick learner. Does anyone else that has the same phone go through any of the above issues?

Re: Samsung Galaxy Prevail: Low on Space
It may be worth it to back everything up that you want and do a hard reset. Sometimes apps that you install eat up space/memory and start to 'overwork' the phone causing it to run out of memory, freeze, etc.
Here's how to hard reset it:
1. Turn off the phone
2. Press and hold the up volume button (keep holding it)
3. Press the power button until it says "Samsung Prevail" while you are still holding the up volume button
4. Hold the up volume button until it comes up with "Android system recovery"
5. Using the down volume button scroll to "wipe data/factory reset"
6. Press the camera button to select it
7. Using the down volume button scroll to "Yes -- delete all user data"
8. Press the camera button - everything will be errased!
9. Select "reboot system now" by pressing the camera button
10. Phone will turn off and back on.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Prevail: Low on Space
I had the same problem and ended up doing a hard reset. But after doing that. I re installed most apps until it was full again .I wish there was a Android application that would make everything work on the SD card instead of on the phone memory. I wish I could remove some system apps like Hookit, Talk and other apps that came with the phone that I don't use. I am sure "theres an app for that" somewhere. LOL

Re: Samsung Galaxy Prevail: Low on Space
You can transfer all applications to the MicroSD card or remove applications that came with the phone, but it will require rooting the phone, which will most likely void the warranty, and you can break the phone if you're not careful. Rooting the phone will give you administrative access privileges which will allow you to make changes to the device.
For those application that you can't move, the Android application developer probably disables that option since it might stop the application from working properly. For example, I have read that if you move an application to the MicroSD card the widgets might not work anymore.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Prevail: Low on Space
Thanks for that info. I do use an APP2SD application but still run out of space. As for the rooting, I dunno how to do that and fear the worse case scenario of voiding the warrant and breaking it. It just may be that I want too many apps on the phone LOL. Many of the apps I use are big files to begin with. sigh! Thanks again! Also the phone keeps blipping once in a while because the phone is low on memory. I can't stop the annoying blip unless I actually turn the phone off! It's annoying! LOL
