To Check for Software Updates

1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Scroll to and select About Device.
4. Select System updates.
5. Now tap Check Now. The phone will start checking for any recent update
.
Note: If there is an update available, follow the prompts to download and install it. If nothing prompts, there is no update available.

To Check What Software Version You Have


1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Scroll to and select About device.
4. You should see the Android version displayed on the screen.

To Perform a Master Reset


Note: By performing a master reset you will lose all the data stored on your phone, including 3rd party applications.
You should make a master reset only if all other attempts of troubleshooting the phone have failed. It is recommended that you backup your information before proceeding with the steps of this tutorial.


To Back up your data: From the home screen, tap Apps -> go to Back up and reset -> now touch Back up my data to enable that option.
To Back up your account: You have to sign in to a Google account to use for backing up your settings -> from the home screen, press Apps -> go to Settings -> Back up and reset -> tap Backup account and follow up the prompts to sign in to a Google account.

To reset the phone you have to:

1. From the home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Now tap Back up and reset.
4. Under Personal data, select Factory data reset.
5. You will see a warning. Read it and tap Reset device.
6. You will be asked if you want to erase all your personal information and downloaded applications. Tap Delete all to reset your phone.
7. Your Samsung Galaxy Reverb will completely reset and restart.

To Restart Your Phone

1. When the phone is powered on, tap and hold down the Power button.
2. You will see a new window on the screen -> tap Restart -> tap OK -> your phone will now restart.
