Before you go further with the master reset, keep in mind that it will delete all the data stored on your phone, including any 3rd party apps that you’ve downloaded. So you should use this hard reset method only as a last resort when your phone is no longer responding properly.
You should also backup your data before proceeding with the steps of the following tutorial.

To Reset Your Galaxy Note II:

1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Select Back up and reset.
4. Tap Factory data reset.
5. Read the warning that you see on the screen and tap Reset device.
6. Choose Delete all.
7. Your Galaxy Note II will reset and restart on its own.

To Perform a Master Reset via Hardware:


1. Turn your device off.
Note: To make sure your smartphone is turned off completely, you should remove and reinsert the battery.
2. Then press and hold the Volume up key.
3. While you hold down the Volume up key, press and hold the Home key.
4. While both the Volume up key and the Home key are pressed and held down, press and hold the Power key.
5. When the Samsung logo appears, release all the three keys.
6. Use the Volume down key to scroll to wipe data/factory reset.
7. When you have wipe data/factory reset highlighted, press the Power key.
8. Scroll to Yes—delete all user data by pressing the Volume down key.
9. Once you’ve highlighted Yes—delete all user data, press the Power key.
10. As soon as the wipe has been completed, press the Power key -> this will enable you to select reboot system now.
11. Congratulations, you have successfully completed the master reset. You smartphone should restart.
