Setting a mobile data usage limit will allow your smartphone to automatically disable the mobile data connection when the limit set by the user is reached. This allows you to prevent unexpected extra costs resulted from exceeding your data allowance

Setting Up a Mobile Data Limit:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and select "Data usage"
  3. Check the "Mobile data" option
  4. Tap "Limit mobile data usage" to enable a limit. Tap and hold the red limit line, then move it according to your needs.
  5. Tap "Alert me about data usage" if you wish to set an alert. The yellow limit line can be dragged and set as desired. Once your data usage reaches the previously set yellow line, you will get an alert.

Setting Up a Mobile Data Usage Limit for Specific Apps and / or Processes:

  1. Access the "Settings" menu
  2. Tap "Data usage". A list of apps and processes that are accessing mobile data should appear
  3. Select a desired app or process in order to set a data limit only for that particular app / process

Note: data usage on your smartphone is not calculated by the carrier, but by the smartphone itself. The methods of measurement can differ, so make sure that you set your limit a bit lower than your allowance, as a buffer zone.
