Data Usage
Enabling / Disabling the Data Usage Indicator and Limiter:
- From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "Data usage" and perform one or more of the following steps:
- To enable a data usage limit:
- Tap the check box associated with "Set mobile data limit"
- Tap and drag the "red bar" on the graph and set it to the desired amount. Once this limit is reached, data connectivity will be automatically disabled
- To set a data usage warning: drag the "orange bar" and set it to the desired level
- To disable data usage limit: clear the "Set mobile data limit" check box
- To enable a data usage limit:
Viewing Data Usage by App:
- From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "Data usage"
- If necessary, press the "Data usage cycle" field to select the desired time period
- Swipe up and view the data usage for each application. Tap an app to view detailed information about it.
Syncing Options
Enabling / Disabling Background Data:
- While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings" > "Data usage"
- Press the "Menu" button
- To enable or disable background data, mark or unmark the check box associated with "Restrict background"
Syncing Apps and Accounts:
- From the home screen, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings"
- Select the desired account type under "My accounts"
- From the main account screen, tap the settings that you wish to adjust
- At the top of the screen, tap your "user name" or "email address"
- To add a category to automatic sync, mark the check box associated with it
Gmail Syncing:
- While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Tap "Gmail"
- Press the "Menu" key and tap "Settings"
- Tap your "email address"
- Tap "Gmail sync is [ON / OFF]"
- Mark or unmark the check box associated with "auto sync app data" to enable or disable syncing
- If enabled, tap "Days of mail to sync" and select the desired setting
Email Syncing:
- While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Browse for and select "Email"
- Press the "Menu" key and tap "Settings"
- Tap your "email address"
- Mark or unmark the check box associated with "Sync email" to enable or disable the feature
- If enabled, tap "Sync schedule" and select the desired value
