In case you've joined the Android family with the help of the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, and assuming that you also own an iPhone, then chances are that you'd want to transfer those iPhone contacts over to your new Grand 2. If this task seems a bit tedious, and if you don't want to manually add every contact, then you can skip all the nonsense and follow one of the four guides below instead. Each method described below is easy to use and has its own benefits.

Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone to the Galaxy Grand 2:

Assuming that you own an iPhone, then you probably have iTunes installed on your computer too. (If not, install it from the official Apple website). You can use iTunes to transfer your iPhone contacts to your Grand 2, via your computer. To do so:

  1. Open iTunes on your PC
  2. Connect your iPhone to the computer using the proprietary USB cable
  3. Once connected, your iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click on it in order to access the summary page
  4. Go to the "Info" tab and mark the check box associated with "Sync Contacts With"
  5. Then, from the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
  6. If you haven't done so prior to this guide, enter your Google account and password. Otherwise, click "Configure" and select a previously set Google account
  7. Click "Apply". iTunes will now sync your iPhone contacts with the Google account
  8. On your Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, register the same Google account if you haven't done so already. (To add a new account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
  9. Lastly, allow the respective Google account to sync the contacts with your Grand 2

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

If you've used the iCloud service on your iPhone prior to following this guide, then your contacts are most likely already backed up onto your iCloud account. Using this backup, you can transfer the contacts over to your Galaxy Grand 2.

  1. Open your computer's Internet browser and go to www.icloud.com
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account, and click "Contacts"
  3. In the list of contacts, select the ones that you wish to share with your Grand 2
  4. Click the icon shaped like a cog wheel. It's located in the lower-left side
  5. Then, select "Export vCard" and allow your computer to download the VCF file
  6. Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts". Otherwise, you can connect your Galaxy Grand 2 to your computer via USB and copy the VCF file to your phone's "sdcard" directory. Then, open the "Contacts" app on your phone, press "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card" and select the proper VCF file

Using the "My Contacts Backup" Application to Transfer Contacts:

If you don't have access to a computer, then you can still transfer your iPhone contacts through applications such as "My Contacts Backup". To do so:

  1. Visit the App Store with your iPhone and download the "My Contacts Backup" app
  2. Open the program and select "Backup", in order to create a VCF file containing all of your iPhone contacts
  3. After the backup has been created, select "Email" to create a new email with the VCF file attached to it
  4. Enter your own Gmail address as the recipient for the email, and send it
  5. On your Galaxy Grand 2, open the aforementioned email, and download the VCF file in order to import the contacts

Using the "Bump" App to Transfer iPhone Contacts:

Using the "Bump" app, you can transfer contacts from your iPhone to the Grand 2 without the use of a computer, NFC or USB cables. All you need is an active Internet connection on both smartphones, as the software makes use of cloud technology for the transfer.

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone and install "Bump"
  2. On the Grand 2, open the Play Store and install the same application
  3. Open the app on both smartphones. If necessary, allow permissions
  4. On the iPhone, go to the contacts section
  5. Choose the contacts that you wish to transfer
  6. The "Bump now!" label should appear in the upper-right corner. When this happens, lightly bump the two smartphones together
  7. If done properly, a "Connect" button should appear on both smartphones. Press it to begin the contact transfer
