File Transfer
Transferring Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Use the USB cable to connect your Trend Lite to your computer
- From the home screen, drag the "Status" bar down
- Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device (MTP)" option
- An AutoPlay window should appear on your PC. Click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer", and navigate to where you wish to transfer the audio files
- Open a new Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the audio files are located
- Copy the desired files, and paste them on the phone's storage
- After the transfer ends, safely disconnect your smartphone by clicking the media storage device icon in the system tray
Transferring Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
- If necessary, open the Internet browser on your Mac and navigate to SAMSUNG KIES. Then, click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the instructions to install Kies on your computer
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Mark the check box next to "Media device (MTP)"
- Open Kies on your Mac
- Click the "Folder" icon associated with "Internal memory" or "External memory". Then, navigate to where you want to transfer the audio files
- On the computer, navigate to where the audio files are located
- Drag and drop the files in Kies
- After the transfer is complete, disconnect your smartphone
Managing the Ringtone and Notification List
Adding Audio Files in the Ringtone List:
- While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings"
- Go to the "My device" section and tap "Sound"
- Tap "Ringtones" > "Add"
- Select either "Choose music track" or "Sound picker"
- Tap "Just once" or "Always"
- Select the desired audio file and tap "OK"
Adding Audio Files in the Notifications Sound List:
- Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Tap "My Files" > "All files"
- Navigate to where the audio files are located
- Tap and hold the desired file and select "Copy"
- Tap "Device storage"
- Open the "Notifications" folder and tap "Paste here"
Customizing Your Ringtones and Notification Sounds
Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:
- While viewing a home screen, tap "Menu"
- Tap "Settings" and go to the "My Device" tab
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
- Select the ringtone that you want to assign and tap "OK"
Changing the Ringtone for One Contact:
NOTE: you can't assign custom ringtones to individual contacts if they are stored on the phone's memory or the SIM card
- Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
- Select the desired contact
- Tap the "Edit" icon depicting a pencil
- Tap "Ringtone"
- Select the ringtone that you want to assign and tap "OK"
- Tap "Save"
Changing the Notification Sound:
- Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "Sound" under "My Device"
- Go to "Notifications"
- Select the notification sound that you want to set, and tap "OK"
