Managing Contacts
Adding a New Contact:
- While viewing the home screen, tap the "Contacts" icon
- Go to the "Contacts" tab
- Press the "+" icon and select the location where you want to add the contact:
- SIM
- Device
- Enter the contact's name in the "First name" field
- Type in additional information for the contact, as desired. NOTE: to learn how to customize a contact with a custom ringtone, visit this link
- When you're done editing the contact, tap "Save"
Importing / Exporting Contacts from the SD Card:
- Open the "Contacts" application and go to the "Contacts" tab
- Press the "Menu" button and tap "Import / Export"
- Perform one of the following:
- To copy contacts from the SD card to the device's memory:
- Tap "Import from SD card"
- Select the location where you wish to save the contacts, such as a Google account
- Tap "OK"
- Select "Import vCard file" / "Import multiple vCard files" or "Import all vCard files"
- Tap "OK"
- If required, select the desired VCF file and then tap "OK"
- To copy contacts from the device to the SD card:
- Tap "Export to SD card"
- Press "OK" to confirm
- To copy contacts from the SD card to the device's memory:
Importing / Exporting Contacts from the SIM Card:
- From the "Contacts" application, swipe to the "Contacts" tab
- Press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Import / Export" and perform one of the following sets of steps:
- To copy contacts from the device's memory to the SIM card:
- Tap "Export to SIM card"
- Select the desired contacts, or tap "Select all"
- Tap "Done" > "OK"
- To copy contacts from the SIM card to the device:
- Tap "Import from SIM card"
- Select the location for the contacts, an account etc. and then tap "OK"
- Mark the check boxes associated with the desired contacts, or tap "Select all"
- Tap "Done" to confirm
- To copy contacts from the device's memory to the SIM card:
Adding a Contact to Speed Dial:
- Open the "Phone" application from the home screen
- If necessary, touch the "Keypad" tab to view the dialer
- Press "Menu" and tap "Speed dial settings"
- Select the dial pad number that you want to assign
- Choose the contact that you wish to associated with the dial pad number
Deleting Contacts:
- Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
- Access the "Contacts" tab. NOTE: you can delete contacts from a specific list, such as Google contacts, by pressing "Menu" > "Contacts to display" and selecting a contact list
- Press "Menu" > "Delete"
- Mark the check boxes next to the desired contacts, or tap "Select all"
- Tap "Delete" and confirm with "OK"
Managing Contact Groups
Creating a New Caller Group:
- Launch the "Contacts" app
- Access the "Groups" tab
- Press "Menu" and tap "Create"
- Type in a name for the group
- Tap "Add member" and mark the check boxes associated with the members that you wish to add
- Tap "Done" and "Save"
Adding a Contact to an Existing Caller Group:
NOTE: only contacts that are saved to the Phone's storage or a Google account can be added in a caller group.
- Access the "Contacts" app and go to "Groups"
- Select the desired group
- Press the "+" button, or tap "Menu" > "Edit" > "Add member"
- Select the contacts that you wish to add, or tap "Select all"
- Tap "Done"
