Audio File Transfer

Transferring Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Use the USB cable to connect your Galaxy Star Pro to your PC
  2. On the smartphone, if necessary swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
  3. On the computer, an AutoPlay window should appear. Click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Open a new Windows Explorer window, and navigate to where the desired audio files are stored on your computer
  5. Copy the desired files, and paste them on your phone's internal storage
  6. Once the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone from the PC by clicking the storage device icon in the system tray

Transferring Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: Follow the first 2 steps only if you don't have Samsung Kies installed on your computer

  1. Launch the internet browser on your computer and visit SAMSUNG KIES
  2. Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen instructions to download and install Kies
  3. Once done, use the USB cable to connect your phone to the computer
  4. If necessary, drag the "Status" bar down on the smartphone, and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device"
  5. Launch Kies on the Mac
  6. In Kies, click the folder icon associated with "Internal memory" or "External memory"
  7. Navigate to where you wish to transfer the audio files on your phone
  8. Open a new window on your Mac, and locate the files stored on the computer's HDD
  9. Drag and drop the desired files in Kies
  10. Once the transfer is complete, you can safely disconnect your smartphone

Managing the Ringtone and Notification List

Adding Audio Files to Use as Ringtones:

  1. Press the "Menu" button while viewing the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Access the "My device" tab
  4. Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones" > "Add"
  5. Select either "Sound picker" or "Choose music track"
  6. Tap "Always" or "Just once"
  7. Select the desired audio file and tap "OK"

Adding Audio Files to the Notification List:

  1. From the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
  2. Tap "My files" > "All files"
  3. Navigate to where the desired audio files are located on your phone's memory
  4. Tap and hold a file and select "Copy"
  5. Tap "Device storage" and open the "Notifications" folder
  6. Tap "Paste here"

Changing the Ringtone and Notification Sound

Setting a Custom Ringtone for All Calls:

  1. Tap the "Menu" key while on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and access the "My device" tab
  3. Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
  4. Select the desired ringtone
  5. Press "OK" to set it

Changing the Ringtone for One Contact Only:

NOTE: you can't assign custom ringtones to contacts stored on the SIM card or the phone's internal memory

  1. Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
  2. Select the desired contact
  3. Tap the "Edit" icon depicting a pencil
  4. Tap "Ringtone"
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap "OK"
  6. Tap "Save"

Changing the Notification Sound:

  1. Press the "Menu" button while on a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Access the "My device" tab
  4. Tap "Sound" > "Notifications"
  5. Select the desired audio file and tap "OK"
