Checking the Amount of SD Card Storage:

  1. Press "Menu" while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. From the "More" tab, press "Storage"
  4. You can view the "Available space" value right under "SD card"

Formatting the SD Card:

WARNING! If you format the SD Card, all data stored on it will be deleted. Before proceeding, create backups if necessary

  1. While on a home screen, press "Menu"
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "More", tap "Storage"
  4. Under "SD card", tap "Format SD card"
  5. Touch "Format SD card" again to confirm

Opening or Deleting Files on the SD Card

Using the Smartphone:

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Launch "My Files" and tap "All files"
  3. Tap "SD memory card"
  4. Tap a folder to open it
  5. To delete a file or a folder, mark the check box next to it and tap the "Trash can" icon
  6. Press "OK"

Using a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy Ace and PC
  2. On the handset, drag the "Status" bar down
  3. Tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device"
  4. Click "Open folder to view files" on the computer
  5. Locate the desired files stored on the SD card
  6. Delete or open the files
  7. Once done, click the "Removable mass storage device" icon from the system tray and safely disconnect your smartphone

Using a Mac Computer:

NOTE: The first 3 steps should be skipped if Samsung Kies is installed on your Mac

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac and visit Kies
  2. On the page, click "Download for Mac OS"
  3. Follow any additional on-screen steps to finish installing Kies on the Mac
  4. Connect the Ace NXT to the Mac via USB
  5. On the phone, drag the "Status" bar down
  6. Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
  7. Open Kies on the Mac
  8. From Kies, click the "Folder" icon next to "External memory"
  9. Vie or delete the files as you desire. When you're ready, eject the Galaxy Ace NXT drive from the desktop and safely disconnect your smartphone

Transferring Files On / From the SD Card

Transferring Files from the Internal Storage:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Launch "My Files" and go to "All files"
  3. Tap "Device storage"
  4. Locate the files you wish to move to the SD card and mark their check boxes
  5. Tap the "Menu" icon and select to "Copy" or "Move" the files
  6. Tap "SD memory card" and open the location where the files should be transferred
  7. Once there, tap "Paste here" or "Move here"

Transferring Files from the SD to the Internal Memory:

  1. Open the "My Files" app and go to "All files"
  2. Tap "SD memory card"
  3. Locate the files you wish to transfer and mark the check boxes associated with them
  4. Press "Menu" and choose to "Copy" or "Move" the files
  5. Tap "Device storage" and navigate to where the files need to be transferred
  6. Tap "Move here" or "Paste here"

Transferring Files Between a Windows Machine and SD:

  1. Connect your smartphone to the PC via USB
  2. Drag the "Status" bar down
  3. Tap "USB Connected" > "Connect USB storage"
  4. On the computer, click to browse the phone's files and folders from the AutoPlay window
  5. Locate the desired files stored on the SD, and transfer them on the PC (or the other way around)

Transferring Files from a Mac to the SD Card:

  1. Establish a connection between your handset and Mac via USB
  2. Swipe the "Notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "External Memory" folder icon
  4. Drag the items you wish to transfer from the Mac into Kies
  5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the Ace NXT's drive and safely disconnect your device from the Mac
