How-to: Samsung Galaxy V: Back Up App Data, Contacts and Media Files

Backing Up Applications:

1. While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button
2. Tap "Settings" and access the "Accounts" tab
3. Tap "Backup and reset". NOTE: você precisa estar logado em uma conta do Google para fazer backup de seus aplicativos. Se necessário, toque em "Backup account" > "Add account"
4. Mark the check boxes associated with "Back up data" and "Backup account" if necessary

Contact Backup

Backing Up Contacts on a Samsung or Google Account:

1. Launch the "Contacts" application
2. Press "Menu"
3. Tap "Merge accounts" and select to "Merge with Google" or "Merge with Samsung"

Backing Up Contacts on the SD Card:

1. Make sure the SD card is installed on your phone
2. Launch the "Contacts" application
3. If necessary, press "Menu" > "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
4. Press the "Menu" button and tap "Import / Export"

Media File Backup

Backing Up Media Files on the SD Card:

1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
2. Tap "My Files" > "All files"
3. Tap "Device storage". (NOTE: To back up all of your files, press "Menu", tap "Select all" and skip to step 6)
4. Navegue até as pastas que contém os arquivos que você deseja fazer o backup. NOTE: Imagens capturadas com a Câmera do app deve ser armazenado na pasta DCIM, e outros arquivos de mídia podem ser encontrados em "Notifications", "Downloads" folders etc.
5. Mark the check boxes associated with the items you wish to back up
6. Tap the "Menu" icon at the top-right corner of the screen
7. Tap "Copy" or "Move"
8. Tap "SD memory card" and if necessary, navigate to the desired folder
9. Tap "Paste here" or "Move here"

Backing Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

1. Establish a USB connection between your smartphone and computer
2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and mark the "Media device" check box
3. In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
4. Navigate to the media files stored on your device
5. Copie os arquivos que você deseja fazer backup e transferi-los para o desejado localização de cópia de segurança no disco rígido do seu computador
6. Depois que o processo for concluído, desconectar com segurança o seu smartphone a partir do computador

Backing Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

NOTE: Ignorar os 2 primeiros passos se a Samsung Kies já está instalado no seu computador

1. Open the Internet browser on your Mac and visit Kies
2. Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on your Mac
3. Connect your Galaxy V to your Mac via USB
4. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device"
5. Launch Kies on the Mac
6. In Kies, click the "Back up / restore" tab, followed by the "Backup" tab
7. Mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photos" e outros tipos de arquivos de mídia que você deseja fazer o backup. Opcionalmente, marcar as "Select all items" check box
8. Click "Backup"
9. Uma vez que o processo é feito com segurança de desligar o seu smartphone a partir do Mac
