Using iTunes:

NOTE: If you have iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can use the application to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, including contacts, with the Galaxy A9.

  1. Open iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to your computer via USB
  3. Once connected, the iPhone should appear in iTunes. Click it to view the device’s summary page
  4. Go to the “Info” tab and turn on “Sync Contacts With”
  5. From the drop-down menu, select “Google Contacts”
  6. Sign in with your Google account, or click “Configure” and select an existing account if available
  7. After the sync is complete, switch to the Galaxy A9, register the same Google account, and allow it to sync contacts with your phone

Using iCloud:

NOTE: If your iPhone contacts are already backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account using a computer with an active Internet connection, and export the contacts as a vCard file for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on your computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account and click “Contacts”
  4. Select the contacts you want to share and click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  5. After the vCard is downloaded on the computer, import the file to “Google Contacts” or:
  6. Alternatively skip the step above and instead, connect the Galaxy A9 to your computer via USB, copy the vCard file to the phone storage, and import its contents using “Contacts”

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: Although the methods above require access to a computer, alternatively you can use third party applications to transfer contacts without needing a PC. My Contacts Backup is an iOS application that can be used to back up and transfer contacts via email.

  1. Open the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app and tap “Backup”
  3. Once the backup file is created, tap “Email”
  4. Compose a new email containing the vCard as an attachment
  5. Send the email to your own address
  6. On the Galaxy A9, open the email client, download the vCard file and import its contents using “Contacts”

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party application you can use for transferring contacts. The app uses a peer-to-peer connection to transfer content cross-platform without requiring a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Install the same app on the Galaxy A9 via the Google Play Store
  3. Launch the app on both smartphones
  4. Tap “Send” on the iPhone
  5. Tap “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to share
  6. Tap “Send” and choose a transfer method, such as “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone, or “Receive” on the Galaxy A9
