Turn On Power Saving Mode:
- Access the phones Settings menu
- Scroll to System and tap Battery
- Tap the switch next to Power saving mode and set it to ON
- Tap Start power saving and select a battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically
Enable and Manage Ultra Power Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap Battery under System
- Tap the Ultra power saving mode slider to ON
- Tap Agree to proceed
- Once the mode is active, you can tap + to add additional applications to the home screen in Ultra power saving mode
Disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS:
NOTE: By disabling the phones connectivity options when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap the switches associate with the connectivity options you want to turn off
Switch to 2G Connectivity:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you dont have access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can improve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Under Connections, tap More connection settings
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Select GSM only
Disable Background Data:
- Access Settings
- Under Connections, tap Data usage
- Tap More > Restrict background data
- Tap OK to confirm
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect battery performance even when not in use, as they can still perform regular background processes. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Under Device, tap Applications
- Tap Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Turn off / Disable
- Alternatively, tap Uninstall > Uninstall to confirm and remove the app
Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open the Settings menu
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Display
- Tap Automatic brightness to disable the feature and drag the brightness slider to the left
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower timeout value, such as 15 seconds or 30 seconds
Change Sync Settings:
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Accounts
- Select the desired account type
- Choose an account
- Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off
- When youre done clearing boxes, tap Menu > Sync Now
