Enable Power Saving Mode:

  1. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Under “System”, tap “Battery”
  3. Tap “Power saving mode” to enable the feature
  4. To adjust how the mode works, tap “Start power saving” and select a percentage for the mode to enable automatically

Disable Connectivity When Unused:

NOTE: By turning off the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS), you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Under “Connections”, tap the connectivity feature you want to disable
  3. Tap “Tethering & Mobile hotspot”
  4. Tap the switch to set hotspot to “OFF”

Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Under “Device”, tap “Display”
  4. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds” or “30 seconds”
  5. From the “Display” menu, disable “Automatic brightness” if necessary
  6. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen

Use 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can temporarily switch to 2G to conserve battery life until the next recharge. To do this:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “More connection settings” under “Connections”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  4. Select “GSM Only”

Disable Background Data:

  1. From the “Settings” menu, scroll to “Connections”
  2. Tap “Data usage” > “More”
  3. Tap “Restrict background data”
  4. Tap “OK” to confirm

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your accounts / apps in order to sync less data, you can increase battery life in the long run. To do this:

  1. Access “Settings”
  2. Under “Personal”, tap “Accounts”
  3. Select the account you want to edit
  4. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
  5. When ready, tap “Menu” > “Sync now” to save the changes

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect battery life even when unused, due to the fact that some applications perform regular background processes. To minimize the effect on battery life, you can either disable or remove unused third party applications.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
  4. Tap “Application manager” and access the “Downloaded” tab
  5. Select the desired app
  6. To disable the app, tap “Disable” / “Turn off”
  7. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep The Firmware up to Date:

NOTE: Some software updates can include improvements to battery life, so it’s recommended to keep your phone up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Under “System”, tap “About device”
  3. Verify if an update is available and, if necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it
