Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Express Prime to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” when prompted, otherwise swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen and enable the option there
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the desired audio files on your PC and copy them
  5. Paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” folders in the “Media” directory
  6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: In case Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac, skip the first 3 steps.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Visit Kies Support
  3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and follow the on-screen prompts to download and install Kies on the Mac
  4. Connect the Galaxy Express Prime to your computer via USB
  5. Enable “Media device (MTP)” at the prompt, otherwise turn the feature ON from the notification area
  6. Launch Kies on the Mac
  7. Inside Kies, click the “Folder” icon associated with “Internal memory” or “External memory”
  8. Open the file explorer on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
  9. Drag and drop the files inside Kies
  10. After the transfer is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “Trash can” to eject it
  11. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & notifications”
  4. Tap “Ringtones and sounds” under “Sound”
  5. Tap “Ringtone” > “Add ringtone”
  6. Choose “Sound picker” and select to use this option “Always” or “Just once”
  7. Select the audio files to add to the ringtone list and tap “Done”

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & notifications”
  3. Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtones & sounds”
  4. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
  5. Tap “Back” to save the changes

Change a Contact’s Ringtone:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Select the contact to set a custom ringtone to
  3. Tap “Edit” > “Ringtone”
  4. Choose the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
  5. Tap “Save”

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Sounds & Notifications” under “Device”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and Sounds”
  4. Select a notification type
  5. Select the notification sound you want to use
  6. Tap “Back” to apply the changes
